54 Secretary Generals Attended the 39^th ANOCA Seminar in Sierra Leone

232news In all 54 NOC Secretary Generals from 54 countries attended the 39^th ANOCA Secretary General meeting in Sierra Leone over the weekend at the Radison BLU Hotel. The seminar started on Saturday 12^th November 2022 and ends on Sunday 13^th November 2022. The Theme of the seminar was ‘NOC Strategic Plans Implementation’. Apart from the Secretary Generals were also ANOCA President, Olympic Solidarity executive members and few NOC presidents. In the two days seminar the Secretary Generals discuss on different strategic plans and how to implement them. Key points among the discussions were things pertaining athletes and the NOCs. The members talk on how to develop these athletes to win more medals for the continent. They also talk on how to get more facilities to develop sports in Africa. Before the discussions the President of NOCSL Dr. Patrick Coker welcome all the Secretaries in Sierra Leone and say the biggest welcome goes to ANOCA President Mustapha Berraf. He went on that coming to Sierra Leone, Freetown one need to travel by Air, road and by sea. For the president of ANOCA he said he has gone to several countries in Africa and this time he has finally visit Sierra Leone. He thank all those in advert ways that help to let the seminar take place in Sierra Leone. These people he said without them they couldn’t have been at the seminar discussing. Dr. Coker went on that few may know that in 1979/80 Freetown hosted a similar meeting and at that time it was the Supreme Council of Sports in Africa (SCSA) was in existent before ANOCA was formed. He went on that it is a pleasure for NOCSL to be a host for the Secretary Generals this time again. It was a welcome news he said when the NOCSL Secretary General Joseph Nyande pronounced that Sierra Leone has won the bid to host the 39^th seminar of ANOCA Secretary Generals in Freetown. He went on that he is happy that finally the turning of the sod for the NOCSL Headquarters in Freetown will be part of the seminar program. The seminar ends on Sunday and the Secretary returned on Monday to their various countries.
