FREETOWN – Sierra Leone’s finest bank, Guaranty Trust Bank (GT Bank) has successfully held its “Customer Forum” for 2020.
The forum which attracted customers from the public, Corporate, Commercial, SME and Retail sectors took place on the 6th November 2020 at the Radisson Blu Hotel garden in Freetown.
GT Bank Board Chairman, Dr. Emerson George Taylor-Lewis in his welcome address, expressed joy for the turnout, noting that even amidst the current pandemic, they still find ways and means to serve their customers better. He went on to say that customer feedback is one of the easiest way for a business to learn more about what their customers want.
He pointed out that, the bank is operating an open door policy which creates an enabling platform for customers to give suggestion at any time as they are the reason the bank is operating.
In his 2020 highlights, GT Bank’s Managing Director, Ade Adebiyi said among other things that the purpose of the interaction was for the Bank to get feedback and insight from customers about their feelings, concerns and more so suggestions, for the bank to serve its revered customers better.
He said it’s traditional for them to have such engagement.
The MD spoke of the *3737# modern banking system which was an idea born out of customer feedback. This enabled customers to use their phones to do transactions and non-customers can also use the *3737# to open an account with the bank using Africell SIM, he went on.
The MD added that the product is one that is in line with the government of Sierra Leone’s agenda for increasing financial inclusion in the country which will ensure that every Sierra Leonean has access to banking services anywhere and at any time.
He expressed appreciation to the government, the Bank Governor and people of Sierra Leone for the financial inclusion policy and for giving them the opportunity to showcase what the bank can offer.
The interactive session paved the way for customer’s feedback.
The Financial Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Sahr Jusu also made vital contribution. He went on to narrate the government’s stride towards supporting the financial industry, with special reference to the Financial Inclusion process.
He maintained that Customer feedback is absolutely essential for businesses looking to offer more personalized customer experiences. Without feedback, there’s no way of truly knowing what’s working for customers and what needs improvement. Businesses should never assume what the customer wants based solely on trends and forecasts.
Customer feedback on the night includes that of CEO of AYV Media Empire Ambassador Anthony Navo, CEO/Founder of “Purposeful Productions” Chernor Bah, and Managing Director of Leone Oil Ibrahim Cole, all of whom commended the bank for their services over the years.
They highlighted their respective paths with the bank, and commended the bank in terms of their service delivery. They furthered that the more the bank interacts with its customers and the more they let customers interact with each other, the more likely feedback the business will be able to acquire.
While the rest of the evening was dedicated to interaction and networking, GT Bank’s Brand Ambassador Benjamin George aka Drizillik, entertained customers with live performance that climaxed the ceremony.
