FREETOWN – Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Pademba Road Court No 1 on Monday 16th November 2020 ordered the court to return the portrait of former President Koroma to Dr. Sylvia O Blyden. Both Blyden and Hussain Muckson Sesay were discharged after standing trial in a Criminal Libel Case at the Pademba Road Court No.1 before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie.

The Attorney General said that pursuant to Section 64(3) of 1991 constitution of Sierra Leone, the state will no longer continue the matter as they have dropped all charges against the accused persons.

After the address of the Attorney General, Magistrate Hannah Bonnie discharged both accused persons, and order all relevant exhibits be returned to them.

It would be recalled that some six months ago Dr. Blyden was dragged to court to respond to charges ranging from seditious libel against the President, cyber crimes and contempt of court. The decision is also seen as a result of the recent repeal of the 1965 Public Order Act by President Maada Bio.
