FREETOWN – It’s disheartening and heartbreaking to inform the entertainment Industry and the General Public that our proposed January 16th Show in Freetown with global hit maker, Kizz Daniel continues to face challenges. We have already put in so much time, efforts, energy and resources, but Sierra Leone’s COVID-19 Response Secretariat has just informed us that it does not consider concerts the right vehicle for sensitization on health measures against COVID-19 at this time, especially with the kind of public momentum which the show has gathered. The Secretariat furthered that the current COVID-19 restrictions require that among other things, large scale congregations are not encouraged especially against the backdrop of COVID spikes reported in other parts of the world.

The Management of LAKE Production (SL) Limited initially decided to use the event to embark on a massive ‘National Mask Up Campaign.’ It was arranged that the event would follow and adhere to all COVID-19 preventions etc. It was also our aim of distributing twenty thousand masks (20,000) on the day of the event. That, we thought will help to remind people that the corona virus is still with us and that the disease is very real. The musician in question (including a host of other stars) KIZZ DANIEL, has been one of the most consistent artistes in Africa, with the firm assertion that no other Nigerian artiste has come close to releasing the number of hits songs Kizz Daniel has released in the past twelve months.

It therefore means that despite all our efforts, NaCOVERC has refused to partner with us and to give approval for the show to go ahead after an initial approval to go ahead with our Kizz Daniel’s proposal. We shall continue our engagements with NaCOVERC and the Sierra Leone Government to see how things will trend before we postpone the show to a subsequent date as would be approved by NaCOVERC. We have also communicated this latest development to Kizz Daniel and his team as we are all looking forward to a future date in 2021.

We kindly ask for resolve and patience from all Kizz Daniel fans as we continue to battle this out. Payment has already been made for this event with regards hotel, air flight, transportations, media campaigns and other expenses. The LAKE Production Team is only now left with an option to carry on with its NEA 2020 Awards that will take place on the 23rd December, at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Aberdeen. We’re very much optimistic despite the challenges; the KIZZ DANIEL show will take place in 2021.
