FREETOWN – Last Thursday 10 December Securiport donated 30,000 Testing Kits to the Government of Sierra Leone at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation Conference Room, Youyi Building Freetown.
The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health said that Securiport has become an important partner in the fight against COVID, noting that recently they signed a contract with government to work together in tracking and tracing COVID-19 in the country.
In his statement, the Chief Medical Officer, Rev Dr TT Samba said that this is one afternoon that should give them a sigh of relief because every weapon is part of their Arsenal to use in the fight against COVID
“The gadget in our disposal will help us in the longer term in our surveillance,” the Chief Medical Officer stated.
General Manager of Securiport Jurgen Descamp stated that it is with a great gratitude that he is handing over the donation as they have been working with Sierra Leone for the past 8yrs
He explained that technology and data are very important in security, pointing out that the new Securiport software will stop people who are both health and security threat from entering Sierra Leone.
“We are the best in this technology- Version 4 and it is not about COVID-19 only,” he added
Deputy Minister of Health, Amara Jamabai said that Securiport has put a system that makes movement into the country flawless because on arrival the software picks out anyone with ahigh temperature
That the test kits are extremely sensitive test kit and that they have with them 30,000 which they can use to do very good as it can help the country improve on testing from 9 per 1000 to above 20 per 1000.
