FREETOWN – Residents of Ndama Chiefdom, Moyamba District based in Europe and America have donated mobile phones to section chiefs in the chiefdom.
The distribution was done by the association’s Chairperson Cecilia Moifula. Few weeks back, the Chairperson Cecilia talked to the people to maintain peace while preparing to elect a new paramount chief.
According to them, the distribution of mobile phones to the section chiefs is to create communication between them and a way to foster peaceful atmosphere.
The mobile phones, they said will help to pass on information in case there is problem in any part of the chiefdom. The distribution of the phones was done at the Ndama court Barry where the Chairlady told them to use the phones to maintain peace and build good relationship with the community people.
They were also told to alert the police on serious matters that are beyond their control. The spokesperson of the section chiefs thanked the association for their goodwill gesture to them.
He prayed that God will provide more for so that they will do more for the chiefdom. He went on that the mobile phones has made work easier as before then, they use to send messengers to deliver messages miles off.
They assured the association that they will make good use of the phone to maintain peace and create development in the chiefdom. Cecilia assured them that they will do more but base upon their cooperation.
