FREETOWN – Youth and Children’s Advocacy Panel in collaboration with Habib Foundation on the 7th of February 2021 donated Learning materials to over ten schools at the East End part of Freetown.

Chief Executive Officer of Habib Foundation (HF) Madam Khadija Habiba Coker said their mission is to help school going pupil to unleashed their greatest potential as they provide them with the basic needs required and help empower young girls in becoming  creative and innovative.

She explained that they provided teachings/ trainings as to how they can make good use with their hands in making different type of clothing brand and many more. she noted  that they have been providing basic support to the less privileged children over the years.

 Founder of the Youth and Children’s Advocacy Panel (YACAP) Amb. Sheku Foryoh also encouraged these children to focus on their studies, because of the advantages that come with getting a degree.

He mentioned that there is a great body of work in exploring children’s development in education. Children understanding of philanthropic behaviors are causally linked to the stage of moral development.

He emphasized on the importance of Education, which he points out to be an important issue in one’s life.

He continued by stating that Education is the key to success in the future and to have many opportunities in their life.

He noted that in order to ensure that children engaged with ideas and develop dispositions to become responsible Patriot now and in the future, they need to support them in becoming critical thinkers.

He mentioned that the schools that they donated learning materials include Richard Allen High school, Marie Vandie Secondary School, OJE Samuels, Saint Benedict, Sierra Leone Muslim congress among others.

He added that they donated those learning items because they want to enhance their learning capital and also for them to become very successful in life.

He noted that the importance of education is that it has an essential role in an individual’s life. Noting that in this era of “Lifelong Learning” understanding the importance of education is also the ultimate key to success.

He added that understanding the importance of education is the ultimate key for parents to guide their children to success and that children, who will become the adults of tomorrow, can only have a healthy and balanced future life if they are supported with knowledge.
