NOC Executive at Sight of the Proposed Headquater
Dr. Patrick Coler NOC President

1st March, 2021 (SALONE TIMES)

FREETOWN –The Sierra Leone Cricket has postponed their Premier League to 6th March 2021. The above league was schedule to start on the 27th February 2021 with T20 format but in meeting with the club members, they were advised by their development partners to change the format to ODI (50 Overs) instead of T20. They told the club members that the format was changed based on the advice by their UK development partner Darren Talbot. They went on that Darren in his assessment of the previous matches played, batsmen has fail to stay long in the crease which is the reason for the change. This he said is done because they don’t take their time while batting. Darren found out that the T20 format is putting batsmen under pressure as the overs is short and they want to score fast runs. The ODI format takes almost the full day and allows batsmen to take their time to bat.  Darren believes after playing 50 overs matches the batsmen will take their time even if it is a T20 match. Batting has been a long time problem in Sierra Leone cricket. According to the CEO of the association bowling is not a problem and they want to work on the batting to balance their performance. Twelve teams will battle in the league of which each club will play 11 matches at different venues. After the above league the clubs will play Super League and will be followed by the youth league and the female league.
