FREETOWN, March 02, (SALONE TIMES) – Minister of Mines and Marine Resources, Timothy Kabba last Friday 26 February, commissioned the alluvial plant of Cheng Li Mining Company at Diang Chiefdom, Koinadugu District.
Minister Kabba expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Mining Country Representative, Fassalay Tarawally, for his relentless effort in creating job opportunities for the people of Sierra Leone.
He stated that as a government, they are always ready to support him (Fassalay Tarawally) since the country needs such people who think of adding value to the country.
Country Representative of the Cheng Li Mining Company, Fassalay Tarawally, said that the commissioning of the alluvial plant is just the beginning of the mining operations as the company is a two-face mining company, and it would commission the hard rock plant within six (6) months.
“In One year, the company is expected to start producing 99.9 billion gold bars for exporting,” he explained
Fassalay Tarawally is not a stranger in the mining and business ecosystem of Sierra Leone. He is one of the leading diamond and gold exporters in Sierra Leone with more than ten years of experience.
Cheng Li Mining Company is a large scale gold mining project which is an affiliated mining company that engages in mining activities.
The Mining Company has officially started operations after Six (6) months of site preparations and camps building.
It is expected to employ hundreds of Sierra Leoneans within the end of 2021, and more priority would be given to the people of Diang Chiefdom.
Other stakeholders who witnessed the occasion include, PC Magba, Executive Chairperson of Environment Protection Agency (EPA), Deputy Director General of NMA, Director of Mines among others.
