Craving 4 Development has once again reaffirmed its position as one of Africa’s leading institutions in human capital development with the successful completion of the 1st of the Mentoring Masterclass Series, a full-day training experience dedicated to shaping the next generation of purpose-driven mentors and civic leaders.
The launching which took place at the Raddison Blu hotel in Freetown on Monday 27th October, held under the theme “Building World-Class Mentors for Transformative Impact,” the Masterclass gathered a diverse cohort of professionals selected as mentors for the Gender-Anchored Climate Resilient Growth Program (GACRG). The initiative focused on transforming mentorship from a casual act of guidance into a disciplined framework of leadership, ethics, and transformation.
Throughout the intensive day, participants engaged in evidence-based learning on the psychology of influence, explored global mentoring frameworks and developed their Personal and Professional Development Plans anchored on accountability, empathy, and civic responsibility.
They also interacted with proprietary tools designed by Craving 4 Development, instruments that define a new ethical and reflective standard for mentorship in Sierra Leone’s development ecosystem.
Speaking during the closing pledge ceremony, Executive Chair, Aminata Kane Balde emphasized that mentorship, when rooted in integrity and excellence, can serve as a catalyst for national transformation.
> “Mentorship is not merely guidance; it is stewardship — a sacred responsibility to model the future we wish to see,” she stated.
> “We are raising a generation of mentors who are whole, responsible, and civically awake.”
Building World-Class Mentors for Transformative Impact” sets a new benchmark for leadership development in Sierra Leone and beyond.
By the close of the Masterclass, mentors had articulated measurable growth goals, designed six-month mentorship journeys, and signed the Mentor’s Charter, a declaration of ethical conduct, emotional intelligence, and professional integrity.
The training marks another milestone in Craving 4 Development’s mission to bridge gaps in Africa’s human and entrepreneurial ecosystems through transformative learning, research, and leadership cultivation.
As Sierra Leone continues to advance its capacity-building agenda, Craving 4 Development’s Mentoring Masterclass stands as a model of excellence, one that transforms mentorship into a professional craft, leadership into service, and service into legacy.
