KAILAHUN, June 28 (232News) – Pastors across the regions of Sierra Leone have taken ownership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Sierra Leone (PFSL).
The Pastors said they felt belonged and have taken ownership of PFSL because the current Executive reached out to them with open hearts which they described as first of its kind.
PFSL visitation, familiarization and interaction have reached 13 places such as Makeni, Magburaka, Kono, Bo, Lumley, Tombo/Penisula, Kissy Dockyard, Regent, Lungi, Pujehun, Kenema, Segbwema/Daru and Kailahun.
PFSL Executive recently visited the South-Eastern region of Sierra Leone where they met with Pastors and elders in Pujehun, Kenema, Daru, Segbwema and Kailahun from the 17th to the 21st June 2021.
At a warm reception, Pastors gathered at the Winners’ Chapel International Gbondapi Road, Pujehun to listen to the good news of God’s servants.
While in Kenema Pastors converged at the Door Christian Fellowship Church, Kengeh Street, Kenema where the executive explained their mission and vision for the Body of Christ. Followed by Segbwema/ Daru and in Kailahun at the Adullam Bible Church.
Sister Kadiatu Kanu of Winners’ Chapel, Pujehun described the gathering as timely, from her experienced it was difficult for one to locate church in that region due to the faith of some residents.
She pointed out that they need somebody like the President of PFSL Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly to guard men of God in that region.
“If they are under Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly leadership, they can do more, reach out for more souls. If the body of Christ is united, they will be able to accomplish their goals.”
She learnt from one of the teachings that in unity there is strength and with God all things are possible and they can be able to move beyond their limit.
New Harvest Global Ministries Pastor Francis Sullaman Senesie described the gathering as timely and one that brought peace and unity to the Body of Christ.
He described the teaching as very educative and interesting. He spoke about empowerment for them to win more souls for Christ.
Pastor Abednego Hindawa of Consuming Fire Ministry Pujehun Branch and Chairman of PFSL said they now feel belong as PFSL reach out to them in a unique way.
The PFSL executive and vision of the Executive was presented by President of PFSL and General Overseer of Living Word of Faith Outreach Ministries International, Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly who disclosed that other denomination beside the Pentecostal Churches also yearning to be part of PFSL.
He emphasised that under PFSL any Pentecostal Church is their Church,
“We must stopped seeing different churches under Pentecostal”
He went on to say that PFSL has been established in Sierra Leone over 16 years and they have set out a clear defined goal which include rotational meetings and visitation among others.
He added that, any part of the country are now waiting for PFSL and chapters have been formed in those area they have visited. The team also took time to minister to Pastors, they felt belonged and have taken ownership.
Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly informed his audience that he will build on the good foundation set up by his predecessors through the Seven Vision Pillars God has given to him to focus on for the next four years of his administration which covered:
- Unity of the body
- Harnessing collective strength: Harnessing the strength of the Pentecostal and Charismatic community in Sierra Leone
- Growth and expansion: to ensure greater national impact for growth and expansion of the body
- Collaboration/communication
- Diaspora
- Self – Regulation
- Visibility and stability
He spoke about the need to have a single register that has the Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches together and emphasised the importance of Churches registering with the PFSL.
PFSL General Secretary, Rabbi Tamba Mbayo gave Brief history and report on first seven months of Exco activities.
Teaching, Call to order, and unity was done by PFSL Vice President Apostle Augustine S. Kamara and the PFSL Welfare Officer Apostle Dr Abednego H. Kamara also teach on different topics.
