Cricket Informed All Delegates To Take COVID19 Vaccine Before Congress Day

FREETOWN, June 28 (SALONE TIMES) – The Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) has informed all delegates to make sure they take COVID19 Vaccine before the congress day. The outgoing board will be organizing an elective congress on Saturday at the Police Wives Multi- Purpose Hall in Kingtom, Freetown.
But few days ago, NACOVERC released a press statement on the COVID19 3rd wave of which they stated that Sierra Leone is witnessing the 3rd wave of the pandemic.
They went on that the 3rd wave’s outbreak has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
In this case, they stated that the government has approved the following measures approved by NACOVERC for a period of one month subject to review:
(1) Wearing of face masks in all public places and transportations
(2). Social distancing and hand washing/ alcohol liquid and sanitizing in all public places.
(3). Services in places of worship and public gathering should not exceed 90 minutes with the enforcement of face masks, hand washing and social distancing.
(4) Night Clubs and cinemas are band for one month with immediate effect.
(5). Government Ministries and office places will only allow staff and other people with at least one dosage of COVID19 Vaccine or full dosage vaccination cards.
(6). All sports activities and matches should be behind closed door without fans.
(7). Social gathering and public gathering including wedding funerals should not exceed 50 people all with face masks, social distancing and hand washing implemented.
In lieu of all the above. the association has informed all delegates that will be at the congress to take their vaccine dosages and make sure they go by the above rules for the Corona virus.
The CEO of the association Francis Samura said the congress will not exceed the required 90 minutes’ time and they will make sure that all are with face masks and they must wash their hands and produce the vaccine card before entering the hall.
He went on that taking the vaccine is not just for the congress but will help their members to access government offices and enable them to travel out of the country.
This Saturday 26 June, Cricket members will be voting for Board Members to run the affairs of the game for 5 years.
