FREETOWN, July 1 (232News) – One of Sierra Leone finest Engineers and Executive Director of Cemmats Group Ltd, Andrew Kemoh Keili has launched Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL) book titled, “The Church in Post Covid-19 Sierra Leone”.

The launched took place at CCSL Headquarters in Freetown last Friday 11th June, 2021 in the presence of Church leaders, worshipers and God’s servants among others.

Bro Andrew Keili after reviewing the book swiftly launched it in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Andrew Keili expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to CCSL for inviting him to be part of such a historic event.

He said a book on how the Church would look like in a post COVID Sierra Leone is a laudable venture and also an ambitious one, considering there may be so many imponderables.

“It is pleasing to note the CCSL and its membership and other religious groups in Sierra Leone have quite rightly taken upon themselves to sensitize their congregations and adapt cherished practices to innovative practical ones. This has put paid to the misconceptions peddled by some so called “divine healers” who tell Christians that they should not go to the doctor because that is “lack of faith”. We however know that God will not do for us what He has given us the ability to do for ourselves. If He has given us the good sense, there are steps that we can take to protect ourselves and if we fail to do that, it will almost be like putting Him to the test.”

He commended the authors for the initiative as writing a book is no mean task.

“They have had the strength and patience to sit for long hours to put down their thoughts to come up with this meaningful work. Congratulation to CCSL for this useful work that should grace the library of anyone wanting to know more about the Church in post COVID Sierra Leone.”

The introduction by the Editor Rt. Rev, Arnold Temple reflected on the declaration of Covid-19 in January 2020 by World Health Organization (WHO) and the spread of the virus which claimed thousands of lives and how Sierra Leone got it first case in March 31st 2020.

He said the Christian response to the crisis that COVID-19 presents should be based on love- love of God and love for fellow human beings.

“The professed love of God is manifested in love of neighbours. We cannot love God if we do not love our fellow creatures. Profession of love of God that is not reflected in love for neighbours is hypocritical.”

Earlier statement was made by Madam Jane Godwin CCSL 2nd Vice President. The launching climaxed with fund raising and a poem by Rev. Moses Kainwo.
