SEWA GROUND MARKET IS FULLY BOOKED

232news – Sierra Estate Mangement Limited (SEMCO), a company in the business of managing properties in the country has revealed that Sewa Ground Market in the Central of Freetown has been fully booked.
Speaking to Journalists, Managing Director of the Company, Lansana Koroma said that SEMCO was formed by NASSIT in 2012 and they are managing some of the properties of NASSIT and that of the Fourah Bay College hostels.
He said that after the commissioning of the facilities by the President, they engaged the customers to know their needs, noting that they managed the car park which is a pay per park, 40 toilet. 1247 open Stores, the Annex Building with 271 shops, 164 duplexes for office spaces and 77 Warehouses.
He said that they have segemented the facilities according to business areas, noting that they serve as intermediary between NASSIT and traders.
Explaining the process of renting the stores, he said that they sell forms for 50 Leones after that one will have to pay at bank and then come to their office to registrar, maintaining that they have an asset regirstrar because one should leave the store in the same condition, one rented it
“We have an asset registrar and we have a tenancy agreement,” he noted.
He added that all of this was done with the Traders Union to enhance tranparency, pointing out that they are providing electricity, cleaning and security for the open stores. He said that Operation starts 8am and closes at 7pm.
He also highlighted the challenges they are facing including access to Garrison Street and Rawdon.
“If we want to see Sewa Ground Operate, Garrison St and Rawdon Street should be cleared, ”he added
Kayonga, representing Traders Union desrcibed the process as 100% transparent and clean, satating that the company always worked with the Sewa Ground Executive and Traders Union.
He said that forms were available for all, thanking President Bio for taking them off the street and for giving them respect.
