FREETOWN, Sep 1 (SALONE TIMES) – The executive members of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party in Constituency 125 on Friday donated 6 bundles of corrugated sheets to the fire and flood victims of the Bumeh community. Few weeks ago fire engulfed the Bumeh community and burnt down some houses to ashes. The Chairman of Constituency 125 said they were making the second visit to the fire victims after the incidence. He went on that the first visit was they came together with Disaster management who supply the victims with food items and clothing. Kumba said during the visit the people appealed to the party executive to help with corrugated zincs as they have started rebuilding the burnt houses. He went on that it was due to this appeal that the party executive squeezed out of the little they have to buy six bundles of zinc as their own help. He though said they will do more when they have funds available. Kumba called on business houses and individuals to come to the aid of the people. Among the four bundles they gave 4 bundles to the Bumeh fire victims and two to repair a house close to the same area that was damage with flooding. After the presentation a representative of the fire victims who serve as chairman of the community said they were happy for the goodwill gesture from the ruling party members. He went on that for the fact that they did not first ask who was party member among the fire victims has gone a long way. The chairman said they were appealing for more as what they have will not be enough to complete the building. From the fire victims the executive went to the house that was damaged by flooding to donate the two bundles of zinc.
