FREETOWN, Oct. 11 (SALONE TIMES) – Deputy Director of Budget Dr. Iliara Mahdy at the Ministry of Finance stood down the to go and do their Budget for the fiscal year 2022 which they presented to the Ministry of Sierra Leone Insurance Commission (SLICO) on Monday October 4th 2021 finance on Monday October 4th 2021.
This came about when the Finance man presented Le 5.1 billion for 2022 and the ceiling was Le 8.75 billion and also stated that they want to complete the construction of their commission headquarter at AJ Momoh Street.
The Technical Team questioned the proposed construction site the commission highlighted.
Dr. Mahdy who chaired the budget said SLICO is not the first institution that is generating income for government and that they stated Le 8 billion and that the total expenditure is Le 5.1 billion which according to Dr Mahdy is complete miss match on the figure they presented.
She asked the finance man to go back and do his financing properly, since they are generating income for government, they did not state what they are generating for government, so she had to stand them down to go and do their figures properly.
