BO, Nov. 15 (232news.com) – Orange Sierra Leone, one of the Leading Mobile companies in Sierra Leone, on Friday 12 November 2021, turned sod for another Ultra-Modern Early Childhood Education Pre School at Tihun Town, pengor section, Sogbini Chiefdom Bonthe District.
Orange Sierra Leone has sets aside USD$1.5M to support government Free Quality Education(FQE) in Sierra Leone.
Speaking at the event, the Councillor for ward 321, const. 092 Sogbini Chiefdom Bonthe District, Councillor Joseph S. Silvalie, said the Pre School will be a first class school for Sogbini Chiefdom, and they are happy for Orange Mobile Company in Sierra Leone.
He continued that as Orange Mobile Company’s Cooperate Social Responsibility they have done development in different areas, and it’s a lead way for Orange to bring the Pre Primary School at Bonthe District.
He furthered that they appreciate Orange Sierra Leone for their kind gesture to help government to promote Free Quality Education in the country.
He maintained that at Bonthe District they are dealing with Orange Sierra Leone’s sim card.
He advised the parents to send their children at School and at that stage the children are building their foundation.
He said the parents should make the use of the opportunity so that at the end of the day it should not be a white Elephant.
He advised the parents to send their children to school and to support the children to learn.
He concluded by appealing to Orange to support them to renovate the school toilets, noting that they also need water wells at the schools at Sogbini Chiefdom.
The Deputy Director of MBSSE, Lahai Feika said elven months ago they commissioned secondary school at Sogbini Chiefdom, and they are present at the scene to lay foundation for the Pre Primary School, he furthered that education is very important and that no country will develop without education.
He noted that Pre School is very important as it develops the child brains as the Pre School is the foundation for basic education, encouraging parents to send their children to start from Pre School.
He furthered that Pre School is like investment and that it improves the child language easy.
He advised the parents and the community to take ownership of the school system, advising them to make sure they monitored the facility of the school.
He said Orange has given them big support to build Schools, and it a big opportunity for them.
He noted that them as Ministry they will make sure they monitored the Preschool, especially the learning system, and also monitored the teachers to teach the school children regularly.
He maintained that as a ministry they will make sure the Pre School has the kind of learning materials desired and that they will monitor the school very well.
In her keynote address, the Director of Orange Foundation, Jestina Betts said Tihun is a very beautiful town.
She advised the parents to send their children to Pre School, and the Pre School at Tihun Sogbini chiefdom Bonthe District will be having Ultra Modern Childhood Education Centre.
She said Orange Foundation will continue to reach out and spread hands to support mama Salone.
She noted that they will join hands with Tihun and Education facilities and workers to ensure that the investment they are doing will be sustainable ensuring that the children of Tihun enjoy the facility.
She appealed to everyone at Tihun to join hands and help the contractors, and be a watchdog of the building materials, so that the building will go on as planned.
Turning of the sod at Tihun Sogbini chiefdom Bonthe District climaxed the occasion.
In the same light, Orange Sierra Leone last Wednesday 10th November turned the sod for construction of another Early Childhood Development Centre(CDC) at Petifu Junction Lokomasama Chiefdom PortLoko District.
