FREETOWN, Feb. 02 (SALONE TIMES) – Seating of the Fourth Session of the fifth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone, which was supposed to have commenced yesterday Tuesday February 1st 2022 did not go on.

The seating was postponed because the ACs went off and were not in working order.

Before the postponement, the seating was later moved to Committee Room No.1 where cleaners and security were busying fixing up.

It was in the process of putting Committee Room No 1 in order that the Director of Legislative Karmoh Conteh announced that the seating has been postponed to February 3rd 2022 with no explanation to members of parliament.

However, SALONE TIMES learnt that after a long adjourned date of seating, the ACs have not been fixed.

That there is a renovation going on at parliament funded by the European Union and the issue of air conditioner has not been addressed.

It could be recall around 2020-2021 the air conditioners were having problems for which parliament could not seat.

That Parliament has been relocated from Bank Complex to Bitumani Conference hall.

In the differed seating, there were important things members of parliament supposed to discuss in the Order Paper- Government Motion which the Minister Of Trade and Industry supposed to have presented an agreement which was laid on the table of the house of Parliament last December, Joint Venture agreement between the Sierra Leone State Lottery Company Limited (SLSLC’’) the government of Sierra Leone (Represented by National Commission For Privatization(NCP) and Accord Logistics for the establishment of a gaming and betting industry in Sierra Leone, The National Investment Board Act 2021 which should be presented by the Minister of Finance and the Wildlife Conservation ( Amendment) act, 2021 to be presented by the Minister of Environment.

In fact the Minister of Environment Professor Foday Moriba Jaward was at the members lounge together with his team.

SALONE TIMES also saw the Minister of Trade Dr. Edward Hinga Sandy along the corridor of the Leader of Government of Business and the Clerk Of parliament office.
