FREETOWN, Feb. 02 (232news.com) – The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Sierra Leone (PFSL), Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly has called on the Church to continue to pray for the nation as stated in Luke 18:1 “…men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” And 1Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing”.

He made this remarks on Sunday 30th January at the end of the seven days of Fasting and Prayer for Sierra Leone with the theme “Cleansing and Preserving our Land.”

The fasting and prayer which started on the 24th ran to the 30th January 2022 from 12: 00 midnights to 4:00 PM while corporate prayer went on at various zones and churches from 3:00PM -5:00 PM daily for seven days.

He went on to say God always counts on somebody to stand in the gap to pray concerning the land as there is much that is going on in many nations that invite the judgement of God. He cited Ezekiel 22 where God made measure of the sins of the four Ps, (the prophet, priest, princesses and the people) and how those people did not repent before God, God look for one man to stand on the gap, in the absent of one man to stand on their gap God brought hanger upon that land.

Bishop Sam-Jolly read 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

“Now God is talking about when trouble come and several trouble have come upon the world in many ways. God is looking for his people that are call by His name. In the two verses, God is not necessary looking for everybody. When we pray, when we humble ourselves, seek the face of God and turn from our wicked ways, He will forgive our sins and heal our land.”

Bishop Sam-Jolly stressed that Sierra Leone needs healing, as the essence of their fasting was to seek the face of God like Daniel seek the face of God and there was a turn around and God answered him.

“That is why for the past 7 days we call upon the name of the Lord. We use the months of January to pray on the year that is ahead of us, many more things ahead of us as a nation such as elections, we don’t want to be reactive to things but proactive. We are going ahead to stop the hand of the devil. We have a God that is fighting for us and helping us and we will see the fruit of it and there will be change in Sierra Leone, righteousness will prevail, darkness will not take over this land. Every tree that God did not plant on this land we declared it uprooted. We declared blessings upon this nation, the head of state in the name of Jesus.”

The PFSL president called on Sierra Leoneans not to wish all kind of evil against leaders but they need to pray for those in authority to do well.

“Is time for us to come together and we will continue to seek God to restore glory over this land, darkness will not prevail, whatever God is not planted shall be rooted. God will establish His will in Sierra Leone.”

The mass gathering was not only in Freetown but across all the districts in Sierra Leone.

PFSL General Secretary Rabbi Tamba Mbayo said the Church has been call to be the watch man over the nation.

He pronounced a shift in the spiritual and they will see a manifestation in the physical because they know when they pray God’s answers.

He went on to described the prophetic prayer and fasting as one that was basically targeting the healing and cleansing of the land.

He said they Bible says if my people who are call by my name and God Has given them the mandate to pray until they see things happen.

“We will push until we see changes that why we went to different arm of government MDS, among other various places. We believe there is going to be change in the economy, health, educational, security and we know lawlessness has been the order of the day and we have prayed and taken authority over that spirit and by the grace of God we are going to see change in that direction.”

PFSL Public Relations Officer, Apostle Siaka Abraham Kamara disclosed that they fellowshiped with the Speaker of Parliament and a host of MPs, and staff, they also fellowship with the Ministry of Defence, Sierra Leone Police Headquarters, the Judiciary headed by the Chief Justice and State House among others.

“We know our prayer will not go in vain because it is written that God is going to restore that which the locust, cankerworm and caterpillar. But God said certify a fast call upon the people the priest should come to gather.”

A prophetic declaration was made over the flag and map of Sierra Leone by dozens of anointed men of God on that day to climax the fasting and prayers.
