According to reports, the entertainers met to discuss the way forward on the health status of popular female musician Vida who have been ill for quite a long time now. Although, well-meaning Sierra Leoneans had contributed to help the legendary performer get back to her feet, yet the status of her health needs a better medical attention.
The secretary general for the Sierra Leone DJs Union (SLeDU) Mr. Ibrahim Koroma aka Prezo Koroma who is also part of the organizers for the proposed Vida Oneness Concert, told SALONE TIMES that the industry has started raising funds from its members, however they are looking forward to the support of the public, the private sector, and philanthropists thus the concert. He went on to tell this medium that proceeds from the concert and personal contributions from individuals would be published after the concert and would be used strictly to sponsor Vida’s trip and treatment in the Republic of Ghana.
Prezo Koroma, noted that VIDA is one of Sierra Leone’s finest musicians, one with great stage performance and has released several hit songs. “As many other female musicians, Vida since her break in this industry has been very consistent and has created a huge mark. Therefore, no matter what the case may be, members of the industry have decided to help a sister who has been there for others before her predicament. She is ours, so we are in this together with her,” Prezo Koroma said.
Also, Prezo Koroma acknowledged the efforts of members in the industry who are working behind the scenes to make the Vida Oneness concert fruitful and stated that the recent misinformation on how the already contributions received has been spent on social media, is unfortunate and untrue. So, he called on members of the industry to desist from such a debate on public fora. He said those who are on the frontline of the Vida Oneness Concert are credible people so any entertainer who may have comments, suggestions, and concerns should find a professional means to do that. Prezo marked that, according to the caption “Vida Oneness Concert” entertainers have realized the negative effects of the current divide in entertainment industry so coming together in time like this to save a sister may restore peace within entertainers. “So, we are using this time to save a life and reunite our entertainment industry” he concluded.
