FREETOWN, May 1st (SALONE TIMES) –It has been confirmed by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) that Leone Stars will play all their home matches in Guinea at the President Lasana Conteh Stadium. The only standard stadium in Sierra Leone Siaka Steven Stadium is presently being banned and undergoing repairs. In this case the FA thought of three neighboring countries Guinea, Liberia and Senegal to host their home matches. But according to the FA the Liberian stadium is also being banned and in Senegal other countries have already engaged their stadiums for their home matches. Few days ago a cross section of members of the FA and the Sports Ministry travelled to Guinea to make necessary arrangements for all the home matches of the AFCON qualifying matches. According to them the meeting was fruitful and that not only playing their home matches in Guinea but the team will also camp and train in Guinea before any match at home and away. Sierra Leone falls in group A together with Nigeria, Guinea Bissau and Sao Tome/ Mauritius. Leone Stars will play their first match against Super Eagles in Nigeria in May –June 2022. After that match Sierra Leone will host Guinea Bissau in the second match and they will host Sao Tome/Mauritius also in Guinea. According to one of the spokesmen for the FA the agreement also involves the provision of security, stewards and the stadium workers to make the stadium ready for the matches. In this case Leone Stars will also camp and train in Guinea before they will depart to Nigeria.
