FREETOWN, June 3 (232news.com) – Desmond Darlington Sola Sogbor a former Journalist who had claimed a lot of acolades before leaving the fraternity to the banking sector has recently received an international excellent award from Access Bank as “Teller” of the year 2022.

In a snappy interview with him, at his Access Bank SL Ltd office, Forster Street in Freetown, yesterday, he noted the challenges from media to the banking sector and a proud award winner.

He said the transformation to the banking systemwas initially a difficult thing for him like any other person to practically adept as a man who used to transverse the length and breadth of the country to gather news and hold dutybearears accountable to dramatically changed to deal with figures and customers which was completely difficult from his original calling.

Sola furthered that it takes the grace of God, commitment and effort to be the person he is today.

According to the award winner, an international award like that worth celebrating considering those among the list of nominees and that some of them have been in the system for many years.  He disclosed that he was able to turn around the table due to the hard work and that journalists were trained and carved to be able to handle difficult situations and to go for what they want.

He was nominated for two major awards, that is local and international but succeeded to win the international award as best Teller of the year due to the way he handles customers and among colleagues.

He noted furthered that he had a lot of things to be remembered in the media profession, a sector he always adored and still believed that he had a place.

Sola therefore dedicated the award to the media where I still consider a home whilst commending one of his bosses who used to tell him that he saw something in him and did a lot of trainings to prepare him for the job with his diploma in Accounting to become what he was today.

Darlington therefore challenged other journalists to emulate his footsteps and never to feel comfortable with where they were and to try as best as possible to maintain integrity which consider as a very important component in the sector.
