One of Sierra Leone’s biggest and finest GSM operators, Africell on Wednesday 2nd November, 2022 presented the sum of NLe 250,000 to Mohamed Sesay as the first prize winner in the ongoing Win Kopo Promotion.

The presentation which took place at Africell Headquarters in Freetown was done in the presence of newsmen and have a tagline ‘NA U TEM DIS, Yu sef kin win with WIN KOPO.’

It was a memorable moment for all those who witnessed such event as Africell Media Manager, John Konteh narrated how they were able to convince Mohamed to come to Africell and collect his winning.

At first Mohamed thought the call was from 419ers and that he was in doubt until a Pastor accompanied him to Africell to verify the information before he believed.

John Konteh continued to explain that for a customer to qualify that customer needs to play by recharging to have points which he said expires the same day.

He narrated that the promotion has daily, weekly and monthly draws. “There are two parts to the games:

  1. As mentioned, Points are calculated from EVERY RECHARGE done by subscriber before midnight. The more you RECHARGE, the more chances you have in the daily draw. For this, a daily electronic draw is done to select a lucky winner of NLe 250.
  2. The second part is the SMS trivia, where questions are posed via SMS. To participate, one needs to Dial *4888# or send START to 4888 from your AFRICELL line for NLe 0.80 or 80 cents daily.
    1. Winners from the SMS trivia will be announced weekly and monthly; the grand prize winner will be announced every 6 months.
    1. Subscriber or participant must have received at least one chance during the week and month leading to the weekly and monthly draws to qualify.
    1. The participant also must have received one chance during the monthly draws to qualify for the grand draw.
    1. A weekly cash prize of NLe 5,000(Le 5,000,000), NLe 25,000(Le 25,000,000) monthly and a grand prize of NLe 250,000 (Le 250,000,000) are up for grabs.

Mohamed Sesay a marriage driver, said he has been with Africell from the time they started operation to date and he has never won until yesterday after recharging several times.

Mohamed described his winning as a total turnaround for him and his family as they will continue the structure they have started at Waterloo among others.

He thanked Africell for the promotion and promised to be an ambassador for them.
