The Sierra Leone Cricket Association has selected 15 Senior Men’s Cricket players to represent Sierra Leone in the ICC Senior Men’s T20 Africa region group B World Cup qualifier. The delegation will depart Freetown today and pass the night in Lungi to travel early in the morning to Rwanda. Sierra Leone falls in group B with seven countries where in 2 countries will qualify to join the two qualifiers from group A for the final regional stage together with Uganda and Namibia. Sierra Leone starts the preparation with the local premier league. After the league over 30 players were selected to take part in the trials for the above tournament. The training continue with trial matches until when the selection committee finally 14 players plus one reserve player to travel with the team. To qualify to the next stage Sierra Leone hired the service of foreign coach Kenneth Masinga from South Africa to prepare the team for the tournament. The tournament according to source will kick-off late November 2022 and end on the 9th December 2022 in Kigali Rwanda. The players before their departure assured the nation that they will qualify Sierra Leone to next stage of the tournament.
