The defending champions of the Sierra Leone premier league in eight matches played have extended their lead in the league table with 2 points above the team in second place.

Bo Rangers won the league last year and represented Sierra Leone in the African club champion’s league for the first time in the history of Sierra League football.

They were knocked-out in the first phase of the champion’s league by CR Belouizdad from Algeria. They held the Algerians to 1-1 draw in the first leg in Liberia and lost 3-0 in Algeria.

In defending the premier league champion trophy, Rangers has strengthened the team with new players to feel in the gap they were lacking.

Alhaji Foray Bo Rangers Head Coach

Apart from strengthening the team, the executive went on to put aside special bonus packages for any match they win or draw.

Due to the above motivations, the Rangers have played 8 matches won 6 matches, drew 2 and lost none. They have 10 goals in favor 4 against with 20 points.

During the champions league competition, their head Jose Solomon Corties was not allowed to stand on the touchline due to his lack of the CAF coaches’ license qualification.

Instead their assistant coach, Alhaji Foray former Kamboi Eagles coach who was with the CAF qualification replaced him throughout the two legs.

According to source, the former head coach is out of the country with the hope of returning back to continue but instead decided to resign his job due to family reasons.

Without wasting time, the executive officially appointed Alhaji Foray to be in charge of the team as the head coach. His mandate is to maintain the lead and win the league back to back.

His immediate task is to win the match against the newcomers Lamboi FC on Saturday at home. The executive did not waste time to appoint Foray because they have confidence in him as he was part of the technical team that won the league last season.
