Table Tennis Executive posed with the NOC President

Members of the Sierra Leone Table Tennis Association (SLTTA) on Monday have paid a curtsy call on the NOC Headquarter at Howe Street to present their executive to the NOC executive. At the presentation ceremony, the former President of Table Tennis, Lebbie presented the new executive to the NOC President.

In his presentation, the former president first congratulated the new NOC President for attaining the high office of NOCSLE. Lebbie went on that as per protocol, they were at NOC Office to present the new executive to them. He presented the newly elected members individually and their positions. These people he said are now officially in charge to run the affairs of the Sierra Leone Table Tennis Association with support of all the Table Tennis members in the country. He assured the NOC President that it was a unanimous decision to elect the present executive headed by the first female president of the association Madam Aminata Turay base on their input in the game. Receiving the executive members, the NOC President Prince Sualley in return congratulated the new executive members. He went on to commend them for conducting a peaceful election which he said was good for development in the game. Prince said it was good to start having women at the helm of affairs and said he was delighted that they have another woman president in the NOCSLE family as they already have one at Gymnastic and a female Vice President at the Triathlon association.

He said he was not surprised to see Aminata Turay heading Table Tennis as she has been very active and proactive in developing Table Tennis. He went on that the international federations have been always calling on the inclusion of females in executives both as presidents and executive members. He assured them of his full support to develop Table Tennis in Sierra Leone. He told them that they have plan to get training camp where athletes will be training for the Olympic Games next year. He went on that the essence of the camp is to get more qualified athletes this time round for the Olympic Games. This he said can’t just be for qualification but to also return home with medals for the first time as Sierra Leone is yet to win medals at the Olympic Games.
