The Sierra Leone Cricket Association were about to hold their annual general congress when they received a letter from the High court that they have received complaints from four of their members. The letter went on that they should not hold the congress until after the court hearing on the matter.

On the first day of the court hearing the accused persons headed by the Chairman of the Cricket Association went to the court with their lawyers and explained to the Judge about the importance of holding the congress. They explained to the court that the holding of the annual general meeting was in line with their constitution and that it is mandatory by their international body that they should meet every year to update their members and report the outcome of the congress to their international federation. They went on that the deadline date to send the congress report is the mid of March 2023. The court therefore saw reason and lifted the injunction but warned them return to the court for hearing after the congress.

According to the Cricket Chairman Francis Samura they will now hold their annual general meeting on the 18th March 2023. The complaint from the aggrieved members was for the two additional board members that were voted by the Cricket delegates in a congress last year. The aggrieved members also wanted all what was agreed at the congress to be revise as according to the aggrieved members the congress was not legal. But the Chairman maintained that all what they agreed on in the last congress was in line of their constitution.
