Delegates of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) at the Annual General Meeting held at the Senior Police Officers Mess, Kingtom Freetown unanimously elected Kobe Walker as the Vice Chairman of the association.
A Few months back, the former Chairman of the association Martin Michael resigned from his position as the Vice Chairman saying he will be too busy this year which can’t allow him to do his role as the Vice Chairman of the association.
In this case, according to their constitution, they should elect another candidate to fill in the gap left behind by the former Chairman.
The Board and executive members of the association informed the members to nominate candidates they want for the position of Vice Chairman.
Kobe Walker onto the day of the AGM was the only candidate nominated. But as per their constitution, the paid-up members in the hall were asked to vote and they all unanimously voted for Kobe Walker as the new Vice Chairman of the association. Kobe Walker played Cricket for the Prince of Wales Secondary School and Albert Academy Secondary School between the years 1975-1980.
He also played Cricket for the Old Prince Waleans CC and Fourah Bay Sport. He played Cricket along with great men such as Dr. Sahr Kpundeh Alex Williams (aka Tilley) Christian Williams (aka Bode) Mohamed Tombo Kamara, Solomon Fatorma, Stanley Fraser, Rudolph Dwazak, Plumber Hamilton, Franklyn Hamilton, the Rahman brothers Dwight Coker and so forth.
On the other level, Walker traveled alongside Stanley Fraser with the Sierra Leone Cricket national team to Nigeria in the year 2000.
He holds a master’s degree in Business administration and graduated as a financial Administrator from the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators. He is a certified business leader. He has more than 35 years of working experience. He is an accomplished visionary leader with extensive experience in general management accounting, financial management and many more.
