Susue women’s Finance in partnership with Afrimoney, Sierra Leone Commercial Bank and Aureol Insurance Company has launched the Women’s Banking and insurance initiative at the Bank Complex Hall Kingtom. This launch is geared towards supporting women to have access to finance and enabling them to thrive in their various businesses.
Making her statements during the launch the CEO and founder of Susue women’s Finance Naasu Fofanah emphasised on how the initiative will enable and promote women to have access to finance, help in their savings and also have quick access to loan through Sierra Leone Commercial Bank their major partners. According to her, they’ve also created a platform called Micro insurance policy to protect the lives of women their investments and also medical health through Aureole Insurance Company one of their partners. She further elaborates on the importance of Afrimoney towards the progress of the initiative, which according to her will create safe and easy way to access their money, make payments through their Afrimoney from the comfort of their homes and businesses places regardless of the time day or weather. This initiative according to Madam Fofanah speaks to their vision, which is to see an empowered society fuelled and powered by women. She closed by thanking all parents, including the market women Association female paramount chief from various regions and those in Parliament, various group and individual for giving their support to ensuring the success of the initiative.
Addressing the audience Managing Director Afrimoney Sierra Leone Martison Obeng-Agyei applauded the initiative because it supports women in business and his company is pleased to partner in such venture, because women form a key part of the economy of the country and globally. “Ones women has access to finance and loans, they can able to project their business able to move their business from a very small scale to medium scale and make it better” he stated. According to him the Afrimoney technology will enhance seamless support to the initiative because after the women have gone thorough all the processes to acquire the Susue loans, the money will be disbursed through their Afrimoney wallet due to the fact that in some communities there are no banks. The women can easily cash out at anytime and even purchase items from a set up Merchant to do their business. Also, when it was time for payment the women can easily load their Afrimoney wallet and make payment directly to the bank at the comfort of their homes and businesses places. He ended by encouraging all women who want to participate in this initiative to secure an Africell and register to Afrimoney which will help in developing themselves and their businesses.
Marie Bob Kandeh president Market Women Association expressed her delight for such initiative as that will help boost the lives of women especially those in the market and other place. She further narrated the journey that led to the formation of the Market women Association and also the support they gave for formation of the Susue Women’s Finance initiative. Other Market women that where present also expressed how happy they were for such initiatives as that will help them in saving money and also have access to funds that will help develop their businesses.
