When the Leone Rock company decided to sponsor a nationwide football, several questions were on the floor were raised.
Apart from the nationwide football competition, the company also sponsored the ongoing Sierra Leone Women’s premier with a huge amount of money.
The company was also the leading sponsor for the Hands off our Girls football gala for ladies with a Le30M cash old currency.
SALONE TIMES Sports talked with the Administrative Officer of the company Dauda Sillah who was in charge of the activities. He first said as the general elections is coming closer, it is their corporate responsibility to help maintain peace in Sierra Leone before, during and after the elections.
In this case, he said they used sports because the youth who caused trouble are the ones in sports. He went on that they used football because it is most popular sports In Sierra Leone. Organizing football matches, he said will enable them to get the number of the youth that they will preach the peace message to and they spread it to the others.
He said their activity may and will end on football alone as they will extend their help to other sports when the need arises.
