The grand opening ceremony of the Southern Arena Stadium in Bo will take place on Sunday May 21st 2023. The opening ceremony will be climaxed with Inter-Regional gala which will involve top premier league teams in each of the five regions. The inter-regional gala will kick-off today with the representative of the North-West Region Bai Bureh Warriors taking on Kamboi Eagles from the Eastern Region in the first match. In the second match East End Lions from the West will battle with Wusum Stars from the North. The two matches will take place at Bo Kenema high way Stadium. On Saturday the winner between B.B.Warriors Vs Kenema will take on the winner between Lions and Wusum Stars at the same ground. The winner in Saturdays match will engage the host team Bo Rangers in the grand final of the gala at the Southern Arena Stadium in Bo. According to sources, the President of Sierra Leone HE Julius Maada Bio will do the cutting of the tape and officially declare the stadium open to the public. The Southern Arena was built by Babadi Kamara, a businessman residing in Bo. Sources also state that the Arena will be used for the WAFU Female U-20 Tournament next week in Bo.
