The Board of Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) Limited commenced a two-day symposium on Saturday to digest the Report and Recommendations advanced by ICC Regional representatives during their April 2023 visit to Cricket Organizational 360 Framework Review ended successfully over the weekend.

The key points on the Report and Recommendations, details to the core, point at key areas that will accelerate growth, improve governance and develop the game in its entirety.

The Board discussed a range of issues with respect to the Report and Recommendations, pushed for unanimity of views by all, and set specific timelines as to the implementation of points advanced by ICC.

Part of the Report includes a review of the organizational structure, which has been downsized to help maintain an effective and efficient team.

During the first day of the symposium, the Board took a decision on all points as advised by the ICC and realigned the new Report with its mandate. All have been shared with the membership.

The symposium also shed light on the 13-point recommendations crafted by the MOS-NSA Investigation Committee. Six out of the 13 points have already been implemented. The deadline was discussed on when to finish off with the remaining seven.

Added to the above, the symposium looked at the resolution passed by the Members’ Council on 18th March 2023 during the Annual General Meeting of 2022. The decision was to remove two Board members who, the Council says, have not been attending Board meetings and have been working against the interest of the game. The Council gave a 28-day notice to the affected members, a deadline that has since attained maturity.

The change of the official logo of Cricket Sierra Leone formed part of the decision of the day. It used to be Sierra Leone Cricket Association, but now Cricket Sierra Leone Limited. The new logo has in it the date the Association was established.

Partnering with corporate entities was a discussion that formed a high point of the symposium. The Company is looking forward to securing funds outside ICC income to develop the game aggressively and to increase fan engagement.
