The President of the Sierra Leone Gymnastic Annah Williams last Wednesday 18th October presented an Egyptian Aerobic Gymnastic National Team Leader Coach Eva Szloboda to the executive of NOCSLE at the NOC Walpole Street office in Freetown.
Annah told the NOC President that Eva was in Sierra Leone for a six days training course. She went on that she came across Eva when they went to Egypt for a competition in which her athletes did very well in Aerobic gymnastic.
Their performance, she said caught the eyes of Eva who promised to come to Sierra Leone and gave them more Aerobic training.
She went on that the athletes put the same brilliant performance when they competed in the Islamic Games in Turkey..
Annah said she invited athletes for the training from different part of the country. The course started on the 19th October 2023 and will end on Tuesday 24th October 2023.
Eva told the NOC executive that Aerobic gymnastic is her profession and she a professional coach for Aerobic Gymnastic.
During the competition in Cairo Egypt, she told all the participants including Sierra Leone to do Aerobic Gymnastic.
As a professional coach, she said her duty is to catch the athletes young and build them up, encouraging the athletes and the executive to get involve in the beach competition which she said is very important. Apart from being a coach, she said she too can do Aerobic Gymnastic well.
The NOC President Prince Sualley welcome the expert and promised her their full support during the training until she returns.
He went on that Gymnastic is one of the few sports in Sierra Leone that are doing well in bringing laurels to the country because of the hardworking president they have.
The treasurer of NOCSLE Unisa Deen Kargbo said the NOCSLE is now looking out for medals and not just participation.
This, he said should be the aim of all Olympic Sports in the country to win medals in the All Africa Games, Commonwealth Games, Islamic Games and the Olympic Games.
According to the Gymnastic president, the training came on the right time as she said the athletes including her and the local coaches learnt a lot.
She went on that Gymnastic have nine disciplines and Aerobic is just one of them. She said this is the second time Eva is training Sierra Leone’s Gymnastic athletes.
The first one she said was in Egypt when she trained the five athletes who took part in the competition in Egypt. She went on that she is expecting another expert that will be conducting another training from the 26th – 30th October 2023.
