Makeni and Freetown is part of the strongholds of the main opposition APC party, and therefore, are constantly under surveillance by thugs of the current government.  Ibrahim’s father was not only a politician, but he was a farmer. Some of his animals were killed, stolen, and his house was burnt down after they looted it.

Investigation carried out by this press revealed that Ibrahim’s father was among those that called for a peaceful protest because of the manner the SLPP government is handling the affairs of the State.

The country is hit by increasing hardship, businesses in the Northern part of the country are shutting down because as government has diverted all activities to the South/East of the country which are their strongholds.  The August 10th protest did not only stop in Makeni but spread to other parts of the country such as Port Loko, Kambia, Lungi and the capital Freetown.
