Board Members of Cricket Sierra Leone have selected Nigeria competition among the two invitational tournaments for the Senior Women’s team. Among the two Invitational tournaments, The Nigeria Invitational tournaments will take place in Lagos on the 25th February – 5th March 2024. The Botswana Women’s T20 Invitational tournament will take place on the 20th April 2024 to late April 2024. According to the board Chairman Francis Trevor Samura they have decided to drop the Botswana tournament and choose the Nigeria tournament because of the financial implications. He went on that they have plans to start the construction of two Cricket Ovals at FBC and Sussex. Notwithstanding, he said they have decided to let the senior Women’s team take part in the Nigeria Women’s competition because it is cheaper compare to going to Botswana. Besides he said the senior women’s have no ICC tournament this year and this will keep them in form until next year. Last year he said they took part in six international competitions which cost them a huge money. Despite the senior female national team the U-19 Women’s national team will be taken part in the U-19 Africa World Cup Qualifier in August this year with the date and venue to be announce later. The U-19 male team will be taken part in the Africa division2 competition in September this year. The senior team will be taking part in the Africa Cup competition in November 2024 base on the rank they will fall.
