The Chief Executive Officer of Native Consortium and Research Center Edmond Abu has present proposal to the Committee Clerk of Works and Public Assets Augustine Sesay on their position on the toll gate fees.
The proposal has the support of over 175 Civil Society Groups that they are not in support of the increment of the three toll gate charges.
He explained the alternative route has been blocked by the Chinese company China Railway Seventh Group (CRSG) which is not part of the agreement.
“These Chinese people are wicked. At Songo the people requested for toilet which they refused. The money they used to block the alternative route could have been used to build school. In China, when investors go there to invest, they should follow the law of the country,” Abu said.
Abu said CRSG has flouted the agreement, advising that CRSG should remove one of the toll gates to help the situation.
As CSOs, he said they want the old price to remain if not it will affect all of them.
The Chairman of the committee on Works and Public Assets Hon. Basiru Silikie informed Abu that the headmen instructed the Chinese to block the alternative route, but Abu insisted that he is going there to inquire which headman instructed the Chinese to block the alternative route.
