Celebrating their 5th anniversary since it was established, the Leading Ladies Sierra Leone (LLSL) a group of female Pastors and Pastors wives held its 1st award’s night over the weekend at Hotel Barmoi, Aberdeen in Freetown where 10 prominent women in society were awarded in different categories.
The colorful ceremony of the awards and dinner with the theme “The Called versus the Chosen” was also graced by prominent anointed men of God.
Biography of each of the 10 awardees ranging from education, Pastor’s wife, bankers, musicians and minister among others were ready before a guest presented their awards.
The Visionary and Convener, Rev. (Mrs.) Irene Winifred Archibold Cole of New Life Ministries International disclosed that Leading Ladies Sierra Leone is mainly for Pastors wives and women Pastors.
She said they decided to form an organization of this nature so that women can gather at places where they can air out their differences, share their issues, problems and try to find ways and means to solve them.
She said they normally celebrate with thanksgiving and seminar but that this year they decided to have a getaway to relax and rest by leaving their homes and spend the weekend in a hotel.
“One of our main aims is to ensure we lift the hand of other women, we support our sisters,” she said.
She pointed out that LLSL started it with a breakfast and come next year marking their 6th anniversary, they would have established branches in the provinces.
The God-inspired programme saw Woman of God from all over the country taking time out to REJUVENATE, UNWIND, RELAX AND REST.
“I thank God for the grace and honour to answer to this call. He is indeed The Almighty God and I stand in awe of him. Our theme for this year’s GETAWAY is The Called versus The Chosen”
There are those amongst us this weekend’ who have been called but there are also some of us who have be chosen.

But whatever category you find yourself womanhood celebrates you. We know it has not been easy on your side but we specially honour and celebrate each other in this journey. We will be recognizing a few women who have been inspiring and whose commitment to womanhood we truly appreciate. My prayer for you is that during this GET AWAY celebration you will encounter new sisters and experience God in a new dimension,” she stated.
One of the awardees, Mrs Onike King Proprietress of Excel Daycare and Academy after receiving her award in the field of education, expressed joy and thanks to God for such an award.
She pointed out that receiving such award put her in a position where she has to do more work and give more in her field.
Education she added is something one has to be passionate about as education is one thing that will take Sierra Leone to the next level.
She thanked God for His grace that has seen her so far and for the recognition of her little work.
She encouraged women in ministries for them to focus on God and always put Him first, let Him go before them, settle any controversy, strengthen them and uphold them because God in the midst of it, He beautifies everything.
“Let us work because God asked us to work from there, He will bless us,” she stated.
The award’s night was climaxed with Leading Ladies special friends’ presentation.
