For the second consecutive Olympic Games, the Sierra Leone Aquatic Association will represent the country with qualified athletes. Joshua Wyse and Olaminday Elizabeth Sam have secured their spots in the Paris 2024 Olympics, following their participation in the All Africa Games in Ghana. While they didn’t win medals, their improved timings earned them Olympic qualifications.

Joshua Wyse, who trained in Thailand, expressed his readiness to compete. NOC President Prince Sualley congratulated the swimmers and emphasized the goal of winning medals for Sierra Leone. He urged other athletes to strive for qualification, noting that the allocation of wild cards will be stricter this time. A female Taekwondo player has already been awarded a wild card, and the NOC hopes for more to increase Sierra Leone’s representation in Paris.
