In a Press Release issued on Sunday the 21st July 2024, the National Sports Authority (NSA) has learnt that Sunday’s downpour of rain has led to the collapse of the National Stadium perimeter fence opposite Grey Bush community, resulting in the death of one 38-year-old Sullaiman Bah.
The destroyed fence according to NSA is part of the Stadium’s 1979 finished product, and not a composition of the ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
The NSA would extend its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and urge all to stay safe during these wet days.
The leadership of the NSA, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq, wishes to admonish all those who live close to where the incident occurred (ground zero) to consider relocating temporarily as efforts are being made to fix the problem. May the soul of Bah rest in peace.
