On Tuesday 6th August 2024, Africell, one of Sierra Leone’s biggest and finest GSM companies presented the sum of NLe 150,000 cash prize to Amadu Bah as the grand winner in the ongoing win Kopo promotion.
The win Kopo promotion which have over NLe 1,000,000 for subscribers has helped to transform many Africell subscribers’ lives across the country.
Amidu Bah is a truck driver, residing at Godrich. Before receiving the ceremonial cheque, Bah said he has been with Africell since 2012.
He went on to say at first, he didn’t believe that he has won because of the high rate of scam that is going on in the country.
Africell Media Relation Manager, Abdul Karim Sesay in his welcome address reaffirmed Africell’s commitment to inspiring subscribers’ lives and also giving him a life changing experience.
“We always want to serve as a percenter for creating last change for somebody to remember for a lasting life. We want to make sure that we bring out the joy from our winners at all times,” he said.
He thanked the media for their constant promotion of Africell activities and said they will always ensure that they continue to open their doors for the media to carry out their work effectively.
Africell Digital Marketer Officer, Fatmata J. Bah reflected that during their last presentation of grand winner, they didn’t only present but also revamped the promotion.
She said now Africell has opened doors for more people to win from three winners per day to four winners.
“We have open doors for more winners, it is a promotion for winners. This is a promotion for those that are recharging their sim and every single day, we have winners on a daily basis and every Monday we have NLe 5,000 for one lovely Africell subscriber.
Monthly we have NLe 15,000 for one subscriber. Each month we have one winner, 12 subscribers will win at the end of the year from the monthly basis. And the grand draw which was first six months but now on a quarterly basis where there is NLe 150,000 for one lucky winner,” she explained.
She said for a subscriber to be a winner, he or she just needs to top up his/her africell sim on a daily basis and also for one to win too one has to dial *4888# or send 1 to 4888 for the trivial questions.
Africell Media Relations Team Lead, Abdul Aziz Kamara emphasized that yesterday was not about them but what they believed as a company for always creating the opportunity for their lovely subscribers to have the very best and also creating the enable environment for them to enjoy the best of the best in terms of communication.
He said the reasons why Amadu was with them was because he was recharging his phone and in three months’ time again, they will announce another winner.
He reminded his audience about the lottery tax of 20% for government and the rest will be sent to him.
