FREETOWN – Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has for the first time in the history of Sierra Leone football created a special office to corporate with business houses.
The above office will be in charge of knocking on the doors of business institutions, linking the FA with potential sponsors.
It is believed that funds from the government and FIFA will not be enough to run the game. As such, they need support from business houses to help develop football in the country.
In this case, the Corporate Affairs Office sells the activities of the FA to the business houses and tells them (Corporate houses) what they will gain in return.
According to the FA, they need business houses that will took up the responsibility of sponsoring the premier league, Division1 and Division2 leagues as well as the youth leagues.
In their press release on Friday 4th September 2020, they informed the public that they have appointed Mohamed Benson Bawoh as the Head of the Cooperate Affairs office.
Bawoh, before his appointment was member of the premier league board media committee. He is also a CAVB Certify Beach volleyball and indoor volleyball referee.
Bawoh played club volleyball and represented his country in both Beach and indoor international competitions. He was also the producer and the presenter of the Orange Mobile football TV program.
Beside the above, Benson as a sports journalist has vast experience in football administration. Most people described him as the right man for the above position as he already has good relationship with Orange Mobile Company, Africell Mobile Company and several other business houses in the country.
With the above added to his intellectual acumen, it is believed he will be able to convince several other business houses to do business with the FA.
Also, the FA informed the public that they have also appointed former East End Lions FC media committee member as a Media and Communication officer for the FA.
