A Call to Business Bank (ACTB) has been recognized and awarded as the Pan African Microfinance Bank of the Year Award 2024 by the Pan African International ahead of other financial institutions in Sierra Leone and the Sub-region. The event which took place in Lagos Nigeria on October 26th, 2024, attracted various leaders from amongst the Pan African countries such as Angola, Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cap Verde, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles and Rwanda amongst others at the 12th Pan African International Annual Conference and Awards 2024.
The Pan African International is a globally recognized development organization and a leading international print magazine that focuses on Africa’s natural and cultural wealth, its people, food, and investment opportunities. It also focuses on showcasing and honoring credible leaders, organizations, and individuals contributing to African development through the prestigious Pan African Awards Ceremony. According to a representative from the Pan African International, their organization carried out an independent survey based on many indices as well as through a customer survey among Pan African countries to arrive at selecting A Call to Business Bank as the Pan African Microfinance Bank of the Year, thus citing that this is the first time for such a category to be added to the basin of other unique awards.
While receiving this prestigious award, the Chief Executive Officer of A Call to Business Bank, Mr David Kamara expressed great delight and said that he feels extremely humble and equally challenged to do more in continuing with the transformation of the Bank. He added that this is a win for Sierra Leone, and he however dedicated the award to the Microfinance Industry in Sierra Leone and in particular, he dedicated it to the women of Sierra Leone who constitute a large part of the customer base of Microfinance Institutions in Sierra Leone. He furthered that the award is a clear testimony of the Bank’s mission and vision in changing the narrative within the microfinance sector and by extension, the financial industry in the country.
In the same vein, the Chief Executive Officer of A Call to Business Bank, Mr David Kamara was also appointed as an Ambassador and Member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Pan African International Magazine for his outstanding leadership contribution in protecting the image of A Call to Business Bank over the years.
A Call to Business Bank is one of the largest and oldest up scaling Microfinance Banks in the country which was incorporated in 2008 and now has twelve (12) operational branches in eight districts in the country. This is not the first time ACTB Bank has received International Awards and recognition for its outstanding performance, commitment to Business excellence, best practices, socio economic growth as well as human capital development in Sierra Leone.
