FREETOWN, Sep. 13 (232News) – A Place Of Hope Ministries (APOHM) USA-Sierra Leone who has been constantly engaging mothers of under-five children through their community outreach, extended their support to the Handicap Youth Development Association (HYDA) at ECOWAS Street in Freetown.
The engagement saw APOHM team fellowship with HYDA members and also distributed food and non-food items to parents and their children for their schooling.
APOHM engagement is to bring hope and to strength the faith of people especially vulnerable through its Jesus Cares Campaign.
APOHM facilitator, Pastor Alfred Sesay, extended APOHM Founder, Sister Henrietta Jones goodwill message from the United State of America to HYDA members.
He spoke about their fight of changing the mentality of the physical challenged as seeing themselves as beggars in other to survive and the effort their chairman is making to take them off the streets.
He disclosed that they have done similar donation in other places such as schools, orphanages, slums among others but this is the first time they are doing it to HYDA members.
Pastor Alfred Sesay, went on to say that APOHM was borne out of the need to reach out to their fellow citizens to provide nutritious meals to children during the Pandemic as a non-profit organization that provides weekly nutritious meals to children and baby food to infants aged 6 to12 months in underprivileged communities to help with their developmental growth and eradicate hunger.
He disclosed that APOHM also provides scholarships to school children in Freetown. Currently, APOHM has provided over 14000 meals, baby food and lunch to kids and infants since September of 2019 in 23 locations in Freetown, adding that APOHM continues to feed their children and infants weekly, and is currently reaching out to other locations in Freetown.
Rev. Michael Davies explained to his audience about the report he normally sends about their cooperation from the chairman and its members, disclosing that due to lack of cooperation in other fellowship they decide to close them.
Rev. Davies added that to complement the effort of the fellowship, the founder decided to put something together.
According to Rev. Davies, the founder is not joking with fellowship because she was saved through that.
The man of God encouraged his audience to continue coming for the fellowship as it is not for the items but for them to know Jesus which is the only way to heaven.
HYDA Chairlady Baby Mariatu Conteh thanked the Lord for directing Sister Henrietta Jones to reach out to them. He said they appreciate the gestures because she is fighting to sustain others.
HYDA Chairman, Alie Bangura, thanked Sister Henrietta Jones and her ministries. She prays for the relationship to continue and for them to be able to know the word of God at all time.
