The second segment of the All-Africa Games flag raising ceremony at the Games village was graced by the presence of the Mayor of Accra and the Accra King and his entourage. According to the Spokesperson of the delegation they were at the Games village to formerly welcome their guests to Accra. He went on that among the entourage they have the Mayor of Accra Hon. Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Tawoah Sackey whom he said is the political head of Accra and they also have the Accra King who is the traditional head of Accra and his entourage. These leaders he said were at the Games Village to grace the flag raising ceremony.
He went on that before Chiefs could alter any statement as per tradition, they are first going to pour libation on the ground. After the pouring of the libation the Chief and his entourage will go to the flags of any of the participating counties. To any of the flags the Ghana Arm Forces played the national anthem of the country with one gun short in the air after the national anthem. While before the Sierra Leone flag the spokesperson said Ghana has enjoy good relationship with Sierra Leone. Some of their people he said got their degrees at Fourah Bay College while some have been in different schools in Sierra Leone. After the flag raising ceremony the Warrior of Accra on behalf of the traditional leaders welcome all the participating countries in Accra. The Chief Warrior told them that they are all Africans and they must live as one people. He told them all to enjoy their stay in Accra and also enjoy their local foods. The Warrior said every country is participating in the games to win laurels for their countries but he appeal to let them please live some medals for Ghana. The Accra Mayor Hon. Sackey also welcome each participating countries into Accra city. She went on that Accra is a peaceful city to live and said she hope they are enjoying the good accommodation rendered to them. The Mayor went on that the Accra Municipality have gifts for all the Chef De Missions of all countries. These gifts she said they will present it to their authorities back home and say they have return back safe from Accra.
