A Call To Business (ACTB) Bank has presented winning prizes to three winners of the first ever monthly mini raffle draws of ACTB “Save N Win Babala” promotion.

The transparent presentation was held at the ACTB Bank Headquarters, Old Railway Line in Freetown on Wednesday 31st July 2024.

Before the winners emerged, a draw was done by independent observers from an auditing firm and the media, which marked a new season of rewarding their valued customers nationwide.

Under this promotion, ACTB customers who save NLe 5,000 every month or NLe 30,000 over six months are eligible to win monthly prizes, including DSTV sets, mobile phones, plasma TVs, Bluetooth speakers, freezers, and air conditioners. Additionally, participants stand a chance to win a brand-new car in the grand draw after six months.

Rockslyn Alwyn Findlay, marketing manager at ACTB, described the promotion as a ground breaking event which is poised to set a new standard in the microfinance, banking, and financial sector, announcing that the promotion has already begun and will continue until January 31, 2025, for the monthly draws.

Findlay explained that ACTB, which was established as a microfinance institution, has transitioned into a banking institution in 2018 after receiving a license from the Bank of Sierra Leone.

“At the start of this year, we decided to fully leverage our banking license. We have faced constructive criticism over the years, and now we are coming out strong as a bank. Today’s event is not only a formal announcement but also a move that will challenge our competitors,” he stated.

He said the ceremony was for them to present winning prizes to three of their valued customers two from the provinces and one from Western Area.

Findlay ended that over 400 customers participated in the first mini draws and the first winner was Desmond Jusu Jabaty from Bo Branch who won the 32 inch flat screen TV, Rashid Yayah Kamara from Kono Branch who won 9000 BTU Air Conditioner and Fatmata Quea Fofanah from Freetown Lumley Branch who won Brand new freezer.

David A. Kamara, Chief Executive Officer of ACTB, expressed the institution’s dedication to serving its customers and the broader community, emphasizing ACTB’s vision of bringing prosperity to every home in Sierra Leone and their mission to provide superior financial services to all citizens.

“We operate with honesty, transparency, and a commitment to doing what is right at all times. This promotion marks a significant milestone for us; being our second since our establishment over 15 years ago. Today is a happy day for me as we are here to congratulate our first winners of the ‘Save N Win Babala’ promotion and today is a testament of just the beginning of supporting our customers,” Kamara stated.

Kamara highlighted that ACTB is now actively entering the deposits market, stating, “We’re doing this not just for us as an institution, but also for the thousands of customers we have across the country.”

He reiterated their focus on financial inclusion, aligning with the National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2022 to 2028, which is aimed at bringing everyone on board.

CEO Kamara encouraged the habit of savings among their customers, whether through ‘osusu’ accounts, savings accounts, or current accounts.

“Savings is a potent tool that one can use for a rainy day. Whether for your kids, family, or personal goals, saving helps. In this case, it’s a double bonanza; you will be saving for yourself and also have the opportunity to win something big. I want to encourage others to be part of ACTB,” he concluded.

Speaking on behalf of the winners, Desmond Jusu Jabaty from Bo Branch who won the 32inch flat screen TV, thanked ACTB for giving him platform to save, adding that he started saving with ACTB in 2022 with osusu account and that he started with NLe30 up to NLe500.

He stated that when he received the call, he was surprised thinking that it was 419, but when he received a second call from one of the staff, that was when he took it seriously, and thanked God for the gift. He further encouraged business owners to do business with ACTB as they have good things for them.
