Leone leading mobile company, Africell, has partnered with Tecno smartphone to give free data for any new smartphone one buys.
The lunched which took place on Thursday 30th September at the Africell American Corner, Bathurst Street, Freetown has been described as one of the best service the company is offering.
Africell deputy head of media, Nancy L. Toure described Africell as the BBC network (Best and Biggest Company) that always deliver when it comes to corporate social responsibility.
She said one can rely on Africell in and out of the country as the communication giant.
Africell Head of Section, Product and Services, Joseph Gbandia described Africell as a company that is here to stay and always ready to give their best to their lovely subscribers.
He disclosed that africell wants to reach everyone that is using smartphone and they know smartphone is gaining momentum through that they want to give their best to their subscribers.
He pointed out that subscribers will not enjoy smartphone without data and as a result of that Africell decides to partners with Tecno to give free data to their subscribers that buy Tecno, Itel or Infinix phone.
He said their aim is to certified their customers.
Techno Sierra Leone, Local Channel Manager, Saidu Jakitay explained that their brands are Tecno, Itel and Infinix, noting that, customers love to buy smartphones because they want to enjoy good and fast services which is the internet.
Jakitay maintained that Africell is the number one mobile operator in Sierra Leone and that is the reason they choose them because they believe their customers will satisfy in terms of data usage.
He also described Tecno as the best Smartphones in the Africa market followed by Itel and Infinix.
The free date that will be giving to an africell subscriber are those that will buy Tecno Smartphone to an authorized dealer across the country, according to Africell Chief Corporate Affairs Office, Joe Abass Bangura.
He said the quality of life has grown in this current generation as compared to the previous once.
“People are gradually developing, the ability from feature phone to smartphone.”
Despite the advancement of Smartphone there are people that are still using feature phone, this Joe Abass said Africell still have service for them.
“If we are now moving to the smartphone era, we want to make it easy for you because data is power”.
He thanked Tecno and team for such partnership.
“With effect from today anybody that buys from authorized Tecno shop all over the country, will get free date between 3 to 6 months depending on the quality of phone you buy.”
Joe Abass placed the free date into four (4) level base on the quality of the phone such as entry level will get 1GB for 3 months, mid rang level will get 2GB for 3 months, high level will get 3 GB for 3 months and the highest level of smartphone will get 3GB for 6 months.
He explained that if you already subscribed to africell, you just need to give the dealer your africell SIM number and the data will transfer to that number but if you are a new subscriber, the dealer will give you free register SIM.
He disclosed that to activate the service you have to send an SMS to a short code 2288.
He said all Tecno outlets will have free sim card and it will be registered.
He emphasized that with the SIM card one will activate the service which will not be remove until the service ends.
“We owe it to ourselves to grow in our generation. Date will help you with just the ability. We are getting better and Africell wants to make sure that we go along with our subscribers.”
All authorized Tecno shops are branded with Tecno and co-branded by Africell.
