FREETOWN, Feb. 24 (232news.com) – Sierra Leone finest and biggest GSM operator Africell, the holder of Afrimoney has partnered with Ecobank to launch Push and Pull Service.

Africell and Ecobank launched the service on Tuesday February 22, 2022 at Ecobank headquarters, Lightfoot Boasting Street Freetown.

The service will allow Afrimoney and Ecobank customers to push and pull their money between their Afrimoney Wallet and Ecobank Account.
In his welcoming remarks, Ecobank, Head of Customer Experience, Augustine Sankoh described Ecobank as a Bank that has been on the forefront in terms of technology.

He said the Bank focuses on their customers and also delivery banking to the unbanked.

Afrimoney Director, Martison Obeng-Agyei said he is an Ecobank customer therefore they will not sell what they didn’t taste. 
He said it is more convenient for customer to move their money from their phone to their bank account.
“We are serving your convenience to your finger tip without day and night. You can have the things that are necessary for yourself and your family.”

He encouraged non customers to get connected if they are not yet with Africell and Ecobank. According to Obeng-Agyei, Afrimoney is doing this because they have their customers interest at heart.

Africell Deputy Head of Media, Nancy L. Toure, also encouraged customers to activate and be part of the service, through that she added they can save time and energy.

“Just push and pull your money any time and hour.”
Ecobank Sierra Leone Managing Director, L. Aina Moore, described the move as a mile stone that started long time ago.

She said Ecobank pride itself as the digitalisation leader.

She went on to say when one thinks about digitalisation, you will wonder if you have a choice.

“Some of us don’t need to go to the bank. We don’t have a choice when it comes to digitalisation but for us to change.”
she emphasised that they are doing such service to make sure that customers are convince and also for them to continue to survive.
“It’s not necessary for you to join the bank because the service is here now.”

She disclosed that with afrimoney service, customers can benefit from Ecobank wide network across Africa by sending and receiving money through their Ecobank Account.

“Africell provides us convenience to pay easily. We are excited about this service today and we thanked africell for the partnership.”

To activate the service Matcus Berdie of Africell said one must have africell sim card and Ecobank Account.

The customer should dial #161# and choose option 9 that have Banking Services, follow by option 3 for Ecobank.

He ended by saying Ecobank has 8 branches in Sierra Leone, it is therefore an opportunity for customers to make use of.
