FREETOWN, Nov. 5 (SALONE TIMES) – The Sierra Leone senior male Cricket national team the Patriot lost their first two matches to Botswana yesterday by 72 runs and to Tanzania by 6 wickets respectively in the ongoing ICC World Cup qualifying tournament.
Sierra Leone is in group B of the above qualifying with Botswana, Tanzania, Cameroun and Mozambique.
In the above group, one team will qualify to join Uganda which have already qualified from group A to compete with Nigeria and Kenya for the Africa Regional qualifying final.
In this case, Sierra Leone will face Mozambique in a must win match today if they are to qualify to be graded by ICC as they will not qualify again for the regional qualifying stage. Mozambique lost to Tanzania in their first match in the tournament but defeated Cameroun in their second match. Sierra Leone will engage Mozambique today in their third match with Cameroun been their last match in the tournament on Sunday.
