BRUSSELS, Nov. 10 (232News) – Brussels, Belgium- 7th November- The Sierra Leone Embassy in Brussels, Belgium has received messages of condolence sent in by Ambassadors from the ECOWAS Sub-Region and other Embassies in Brussels on the recent tanker explosion in Wellington, Freetown.
Ambassadors from Ghana, Cote Ivoire, Mauritania, Senegal, Nigeria, Guinea and ECOWAS Ambassador wrote;
“We express our solidarity and support to Ambassador Mussah for the deadly explosion which claimed dozens of victims! our deepest condolences to the government and people of Sierra Leone!!”
“I convey our solidarity with the government and people of Sierra Leone. Our condolences to the bereaved families”
“Nous présentons nos condoléances les plus attristées au peuple et au gouvernement de Sierra Leone et à notre frère l’ambassadeur de Sierra Leone pour la grande tragédie qui est arrivée à Freetown. Compassion et solidarité à toutes les familles éplorées.”

“Dear Excellency Sam, my profound sympathies for the unfortunate loss of lives following the Explosion in your country. I pray your Government finds the requisite support for the Brotherly People of Sierra Leone 🇸🇱”

“Toutes nos fraternelles condoléances au Peuple et au gouvernement de Sierra Leone et à notre frère l’ambassadeur de Sierra Leone pour la grande tragédie subie à Freetown.”

In his response Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Brussels, H. E. Samuel Tamba Musa wrote
“Many thanks Excellencies for your concern, solidarity and support to me, the government and people of Sierra Leone. We are deeply saddened by the gruesome accident. It is a huge tragedy. The explosion claimed the lives of about 90 people and the number is expected to rise as many got injured. The government and partners are doing their best to provide critical support to take care of the dead and affected families. As we mourn the loss of lives, we pray that the injured will recover speedily and totally from the injuries. On behalf of the Sierra Leone Embassy, the government and people of Sierra Leone, we are grateful for your support”. Ambassador Samuel Tamba Musa
It could be recalled on Friday 5th November, 2021, Sierra Leoneans received a devastating news about the death about 100 citizens and several seriously damaged after a fuel tanker exploded around Willington, East of the Capital Freetown. President Bio who was attending the COP26 in Glascow had to cancel his trip to Ghana to Chair the Extraordinary session on the political Situations in Guinea and Mali.
