FREETOWN, Sep. 1 (SALONE TIMES) – It could be recalled that sometimes in May this year, Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) informed the people that it has commenced forensic and comprehensive investigations into allegations of grand corruption involving the renovation and, or re-construction of the Sierra Leone Chancery Building in Manhattan, New York City, United States of America.

The release from the ACC stated that the Government allocated for Four Million Dollars (USD $4,000,000.00) between 2011 to 2019 for which no work was carried out.

As such, many people were called for questioning and among them was the former Minister of Foreign Affairs who was Presidential Candidate for the main opposition All People Congress (APC) for the 2018 elections, Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara.

Also, the Head of Chancery and other persons of interest involved in the management of the finances of the Chancery were also called for questioning.

The Former Flagbearer of the APC said that he will always support the fight against corruption as he remains confident in his stewardship to the country.

Meanwhile, the ACC in a public notice has revealed that they have completed their investigation into the matter and that details of their findings will be made known to the public today Wednesday 1 September at Cathedral Hall in Freetown.

Sierra Leoneans all over the world are waiting to know the outcome of the investigation and if it (investigation) will yield anything or it will be what they described as another ‘buff’ (Impunity) case.
